    You can emulate the doveprism functionality with mirrors.
    Just tape some dollarshop cosmeticmirrors together with cardboard to make a proof of concept.

    Yes, diagram please. Admittedly I'm an idiot but I think it's not just complicated to me. You need to not only emulate the results of internal reflections inside a prism but also beam redirection from refractions, and make it work when the prism rotates as well.

    If you have an odd number of bounces you get rotation:

    ----------
    /.......\

    In the "diagram" above the light bounces off the left diagonal up to the horizontal and down to the right diagonal (The diagonals need to be on a shallower angle than my txt approximations of course) the axis of rotation is through the diagonals...
