Ethan, what is wrong with the A2500? Is it a software problem, or is the machine not booting? Would love to see the old LSD400 software running!

Agree that a Mirage or two would be ideal for this. I'll speak to Adam Raugh about that...

A few people have asked about video. We *could* try streaming the presentations if we wanted, but at the very least it would be great if we could video them for later editing/posting on-line so others could view them.

Wash lights sound great! Please bring those. As for ADAT/HD24, I would say if you and Frank want to do some stuff, then bring it. Otherwise I don't know if anyone else will have need/desire to play with it though.

Please bring your big LCD + 1 small one. That should be plenty. (Thinking about using the small one in the Club to mirror the screen for the "Beyond in a live environment" stuff so more people can see, and we can put the big one in the classroom upstairs...)

Note to everyone: I'll be in town Monday late afternoon to early evening. Planning to go out for dinner with the new director of the Auditorium and the Mayor to discuss the future of the event in Newton. Anyone who is in town is welcome to join us. Thinking maybe 6 PM-ish? I know Brad will be there, but I was hoping there would be a few more of us present...

A2500 boots fine, just LD400 says it can't see the QM16 board. The LD400 came from a seaworld system image while the PCB came with other disks. There are master / slave PCBs though, so I need to verify my QM16 is a master.

I can bring camcorders for bulk recording of whatever. Maybe 2 and 2 x 32GB SD cards.

For a minute it seemed like I was going to end up arriving Friday evening but I am back to a Wednesday eve or Thursday noonish arrival.
(Kind of crazy, switching employment right on top of SELEM.)

Try a different Zorro slot? Could be you have a bad one. If the Amiga OS can't see the board, you've either got a bad slot or a dead QM. My money is on the slot being bad...

I think there was a utility that could see the card though?

I dunno. The card doesn't have an identifier. There is a SCSI Card in another slot. I'm bringing it to SELEM.

I might bring some of the capture hardware for dumping shows from IE/SVHS to tape, and maybe get some insight about the whole single ended, differential, am I losing resolution in the capture problem I'm having.

Mixedgas, two days later in the week.
Subject to finding a room mate and depending on the fragile health of my dependent.
Bringing Galvo Sweeper and a few other neat things.
I'll probably drive.. Galvo test gear is too big for checked...
I'll probably bring Aurora, which runs on a MAC from the late 90s. (Telemonster, bring your wallet , maybe, and I hope you like external SCSI Bus hardware)

I am going to book a room for event today... could use a room split to knock down price :-)

Not familiar with the Aurora (yet!) Am familiar with SCSI hardware!!

Payment sent. Things are weird again this year, looking forward to being around good people.

    Thumbs up Getting close now...

    Hey folks!

Just a general update... We will have more tables available this year. (YAY!) They found about a dozen rectangular banquet tables in the basement that we can use, plus 3 or 4 more of the round ones. So that should help out a bit. Plus I'm bringing a few more folding tables of my own this year for the club.

Got a question for everyone: How many people will be present when load-in starts on Tuesday morning at 10 AM? Just trying to get a feel for how much help we'll have. (Lots to do that day!)

Also, I will be arriving in the late afternoon on MONDAY this year. Figured it would be smart to get a good night's rest before load in! That evening I'm going to have dinner with the new director of the Auditorium at around 6PM or so. Nothing formal or anything - just wanted to have a chance to meet her in person and give her some more background about the event. I told her that we'd have at least a few folks in town by then, so anyone who will be in town on Monday evening is welcome to join us! It should be a fun and relaxing way to ease into the week of crazy.

I don't remember anything like that. I remember putting the driver in the DEVS drawer of the workbench folder and then restarting the machine. If Kickstart detected something it couldn't understand, it would let Workbench try to load the driver (from the DEVS folder) when Workbench started. Sometimes you had to manually load drivers from the startup script file too, but I don't remember anything like the Windows "Device Manager"... (Granted, it's been a couple decades since I messed with any of this, so I could be forgetting something obvious!)

There is a SCSI Card in another slot. I'm bringing it to SELEM.
OK, cool. While we're there we can try swapping cards and slots and see what happens. I might also need to borrow your 1084S monitor for a couple quick tests.

Hmmm... I sure hope Andrew Berry is able to attend then. Last I heard he might not be able to get away. But if he is able to come, we should definitely speak with him about that. If it's a signal gain issue, we can fix that with a few op amps!

Sweet! Looking forward to it dude!

There are a few folks in this thread who are looking to split a room. Rodney and Ethan both spring to mind, but there could be others as well. Note that if there are 3 people, you can save a *bunch* of money by getting a suite and having one person sleep on the fold-out bed from the couch. (Just be sure you get a suite with the sleeper couch.) Ask the front desk for details on how to upgrade, but it's usually only another $20 per night or so, and you get *tons* of extra space plus a full kitchen.

Hope your mom is doing OK. Understand where you're coming from though. I'm kinda dealing with something similar these days.

Got you on the list, Dan! Looking forward to seeing you again this year. And yeah, it's a great way to get away and recharge. Restores my faith in humanity for sure!

Great news on the tables! We are always in need of those.

Regarding load in, I will be there Tuesday as usual. Probably rolling in around noon, perhaps earlier.

Fun, fun, fun in just a couple weeks!

I hoped holding out would give a better flight but the prices of flights shot out of the roof.. the vacation period her starts so flights double or triple in cost. Was hoping for a good wow air connection.
I will likely send some kind of laser short or something funny to use at the lem.
I'll probably wrap this one up and send it. Just need to finish the hair physics.
