Just make sure they shut the lasers off before you go out to harvest the berries!

Wish they had a video of this thing running at night... I'll bet it looked pretty cool. (Although the movement looked slower than I would have expected.)

I have to admit that as a teenager, the ‘Laser Renewal Fesival’ seemed like a great idea to deal with those ‘pesky old people’. Now as a middle aged dude, I fear my lasers will soon turn on me!

Yeah... I was also surprised at how slow the dot moved across the ground.
Probably to make sure the birds actually see it coming.

IF it would not burn the berries and plants I'd say go IR...... Free lunch cooked and no buckshoot.

Would not a simple subsonic pulse do the same job?

My former employer would suggest this to clear the birds, and the humans too..

Not one of the devices I worked on however. So don't ask me about the chamber design, I don't know.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I do work on some strange stuff from time to time...
Usually I try to avoid that kind of thing now that I'm older.
What happened in Indiana has to stay in in Indiana, for the most part.
But the vortex thing seemed appropriate overkill for the post.

The Hyperpulse is cool! And I'm sure it would get the birds' attention!

These things are called "Bird Bangers", and can be fired from a modified starter pistol. The come with and without the screaming rocket chaser. I'm sure they're effective, but they have to be reloaded, so either the laser or the hyperpulse wins out for un-attended operation...
