There's a sculpture that needs to be represented in the Sharjah design biennial show and we don't have enough budget to ship the sculpture over there. We now want to have it represented in the show as a laser animation or even a laser still image.
does anyone have any experience doing 3D scanning for this purpose? Even a hand drawn representation of the sculpture might be fine too. We originally tried tracing the sculpture's silouette but you still need a few details inside the outline to really make it clear what it is, so i think it needs an artists touch or perhaps a 3D scanned type of treatment.
The sculpture is in LA, and if anyone knows someone in Los Angeles that could help with 3D scanning I'd love to be put in touch with them.
It's a simplistic, life size sculpture of a human with no hair. Perhaps even a low cost simple hacked Kinect style of 3D scan could be fine.
Any other thoughts or help on this is appreciated, thanks!
