Default hi all, how do you store your laser projectors?

Mine are in the garage in a custom made flight case with silicone sealants applied to the edges of the walls inside and the temperature ranges from 12 to 25 degrees Celcius during the year. I've stored them like this for two years and for a year haven't taken them out and used. Is that a safe environment for them?

it isn’t freezing it isn’t broiling. It is dry....yea good. If they are ion you better run them once a year or so to bake them. They decay just sitting. If diode dpss opsl.....doesn’t matter

    They should be fine.
Mine are stored in a lockup that goes from below freezing to +30C
I run thermostatically controlled heating now to ensure 5C minimum (above dew point) and dehumidifier.
Be aware that if you have DPSS modules you may find that they don't work or are very low on power next time to use them. This is because the crystals are hygroscopic, and will degrade over time naturally.
It was my primary reason fro stopping using DPSS heads.

Thank you. Mine are pure diode. This is very reassuring.

Bag them in dry nitrogen. Will last a long time.

Mines just in the house. Modern projectors take up very little space.

Yeah, mine as well. I have often wondered about the effect of high temps say in a car trunk. I frequently bake optics at 170F for 10 minutes to dislodge dichros and pbs cubes from their mounts as two part epoxy fails after this short exposure. I would think even limited time in black car on a hot sunny day could reek havoc on a build, but have not heard anyone say they have experienced this.

Unless you have a few of them.

And even then having a split load for jobs where all the rigging, cables, control gear, etc is in one place, and all the projectors are in another place is just a pain.
