Default Laser marker build with scanlab products & ipg laser source.

i currently have the following products for this build i need to put together rather quickly. ... i have several ipg laser sources to choose from, a scanlab scancube II , scanlab rtc4 and a rtc5, a power supply for the galvo scanner, i also have several suites of software i can utilize. i am looking for information on a power supply for the ipg laser... also what has me stumped is this . .. "will the rtc4 or 5 scanlab card send the control signals to the laser source?" do i need a separate board of sorts to send the signals from the software to the laser source ? power, frequency , guide beam so on da da da.. ? this is my first build, working up to the super high end arges build i have planned... i know some people wont comment due to concerns of safety.. to ease your mind we have experience with and currently own laser systems like coherent avia's, ipg 500 watt pulsed unit, and many other high end systems for research purposes... we also have a safety program in place here when working with lasers.. .

Any help would be very appreciated.

    thank you

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

I'm building my laser-markers with the E1701D galvo controllers and BeamConstruct software.

My fiber-lasers are from JPT -- but have several older IPG too, when planning to bild other types for my own or different use cases.

The pulsed lasers from IPG needs either serial communication to set power, or an analogue voltage from 0-4V -- the CW-types needs 0-5V ... then it's modulating the laser by TTL-pulses (or constant on for CW operation).

Look into the documentation of the E1701 boards - http://halaser.de/compare.php

They can handle different types of lasers ... and IPG.types too ...

Thanks i do have one of those boards and the software from that company. i would like to say rather impressive cost / performance they offer.. anyways that particular system is going to be designed for another laser build, i really want to utilize the scanlab components with the ipg ylp(m) laser. it is a pulsed laser 1064nm. Thanks again for sharing, i did some research and i think that the rtc boards can send the signals to the laser source , its a matter of acquiring the original CD that came with the boards now.. i read somewhere there is a development package on that cd...
