When I load these into LSG they come out blank or at least no color value is assigned to them.

When you're dealing with many files, zip is your friend!

All software has a learning curve usually proportional to its capabilities and unique features. Pointing with a mouse is in no way easier than tapping a key.

    Frieda is all there.

Linus has some lines with palette index 63 (black) this is one index beyond the colors, actually the 64th item in the palette. You could fix this in LB. You have to go into the palette menu and change the rgb values of palette index 63 to whatever color you want. This can only be done to the target palette and will create a new palette since you can't change any of the built-in palettes in LB. Then you have to match all frames to this palette by index. That will fix the missing color in all frames. Then you have to match all frames to the Default palette before you save it. (Actually, if you save with chil, you don't have to do the very last step.)

    p for palette menu
tap the p or P to move the palette index marker to index 63 (the end of the colors)
hit r to set the rgb value of index 63 in the target palette
    enter 0, 0, 255 for the values of R, G, B.
Hit C (capital c) to switch all the frames to use the new edited palette
Now you can see all the lines that were black.
Use the up / down arrow keys to find the Default_ palette as the target
Hit B (capital b) to do a best match of all frames to the default palette.

There is way too much in Linus for scanners to handle!

    PP.ild same as Linuz.

    Sally is all there.

    Snoopy same as Linus.

    Twin same as Linus.

When you make your art, black is not a viable color for laser projection.

It is customary to use true blue (0, 0, 255) palette index 40 to represent black.

It's also worth noting that you can open a bitmap image in the background of the LB display area and trace over it.

These files may just have too many points per frame. I would try applying the chil effect on the original Sally file, but skip the optimize step and see what happens.

Where did you get your default color table info? Attached is a table from an ancient copy of Anarchy and it's the same as LB up to about index 45- open it in Wordpad.

I don't remember where I got it. I'll have to do some looking tomorrow. That was like 15 years ago!

Why would you save that as an rtf file? What's wrong with good old txt?

You know, if you make a simple text table with a line at the top that describes the format, LB can load it as a palette.

This is the output of LB of the Default palette that it has been using forever.

Actually, it was originally a .pal file- I renamed it as rtf so it would load automatically in Wordpad but even that was disallowed as an attachment so I zipped it.
As Charlie Brown would say- Auurrghhh!

As far as I know, there's no need for a black entry in the table because of the blanking bit.

LaserBoy makes use of the concept of lit black. It's a way to bond disconnected lit segments together so that the LaserBoy effects see the bonded segments as a single entity.

Well, that seems to be a problem...
