I began to suspect the problem I noticed previously with the spiral ramp circuit getting locked when the in / out control voltages exceeded only slightly above 5V was due to the way I was conducting the test. Recent investigation showed this to be the case. The new voltage projection circuit gives data the full 10V range, and suddenly a huge improvement in anything involving spirals has appeared. The unwinding eye shape I remember from run like hell, see photos, appeared, and now the variable spiral rate input feels useful in the way I expect it was intended to be, due to the control voltage ranges finally being correct enough.
It can be seen in the photos that circuitry for inverse spirals, diamonds, sweep and direction have been removed from the breadboard, as these functions were previously moved to software. The time of the long awaited testing of the ramp shaping circuit is approaching.

Interesting to note: The spiral ramp reset function actually requires two inputs which are always either / or as controlled by the reset bit. By controlling the inputs separately, a spiral mode unavailable on the original board is obtained where reset high freezes the ramp where it is, and reset low permits the ramp to proceed from where it was stopped rather than resetting.

I'll guarantee the spiral reset immediately reset the spiral ramp to zero and the inverse spiral to 100% on the original circuit. There were several inverters that were involved...

Yes, it does exactly that. The circuit in use is exactly what is given from the schematic with your suggested THAT 340 substitution. However, the CD4041A true complement buffer is gone, and two signals from the system now control the R and invert R inputs, as shown in the graphic. Instant reset is the default mode. By holding R low, the pause mode is obtained.

Cool. An adjustable square wave trigger on the pause might be interesting.

Oh yeah, good idea. Here's something of no great consequence, though still a concerning loose end: The KQO trigger frequency cannot go low enough to match the triangle audiomod sweep frequency 1:1, so how was that effect done?

I not sure to what "that effect" refers...

The other four 4302s are working in my basement.
    As are other 43xx...

Very good. Make that one of five known specimens of 4302. Are yours doing something related to image synthesis, Steve? Brian: never mind, I'm just fretting over getting the triangle audiomod + KQO effect (shown) to look the way I remember it from long ago. I don't think there is a real question there.

Here's the image generators and emulator doing a Doors number accurately. Finally the panel is called back into use. Finally got the spirals right and here they are. The image source is the three oscillators of the CYGN-A kicked flat. So what's that square looking one?
