Antifreeze for Co2 laser?

I remember seeing a video for a CO2 laser cutter and the guy posting the video used antifreeze in the water for cooling the tube. Is this a thing?

I am trying to keep algae from growing in my coolant. After about 2 weeks, the water starts to look a little cloudy and I change it. Does antifreeze help? Does it hurt the laser tube? Any input would be awesome!

lots of folks use a 50/50 ratio of rv antifreeze and distilled water.

i've never had an algae problem using just distilled water (knock on wood).
