Default Started to build a few more projectors.

So I started to put together a few more 1 watt 30k projectors. I'm going to be using the cases that I salvaged from the 1000 watt sodium halide ballast. Since these are going to be used in the theater environment. I've decided to paint them black. Here is the result. I think they look pretty nice. I will continue to update this thread as progress continues.

I used Rustoleum 2X and bake them in an oven at 170 degrees for about 2 hours.

Nice enclosure, looks like you have plenty of heat-sinking there. Is it a 1w RGB single mode projector you're building?

Yes, 1 watt RGB all diode (450 blue, 520 green, 638 red) analog with 35kpps (@8 degrees) galvos. You can see a previous one that I built a few threads down.

That's a nice build, it's sealed up pretty well. Hope we'll see the guts of your new projector. I've just started to build a similar single-mode projector myself. I recently purchased one of the Goldenstar cases (Type A) so I'm going to bung everything into that. Best of luck with the build.

Where did the enclosure come from? I have a first gen (pre-release) laser dock that uses fans and sounds like a jet taking off. I need to do something with it.

Edit: nevermind, I read your post again and it says where the enclosure came from.

Those enclosures looked plenty fine when they were just bare aluminum, but the baked-on paint really sets them off! Nice work!
