UK laser meet #2

Hi Aidan

Have you tried Metal Supermarket in the UK. There's quite a few scattered around the country and they will cut pretty much anything to size. However, it's worth telling them you want the metal kept flat. They have some HUGE guillotines that tend to bend the metal slightly unless you mention to them to be careful!

I saw some alu plate on one of their shelves that was probably 20mm ish, don't know how much that would cost though, pretty expensive I guess.

Thanks Jem, will look into them.

I got a price from work and it was £45 for A4 size 1.5".

Which I think wasn’t too bad.

Got to wait until I got the kit so I know wither I want to mounted everything to some ALU or just the scanners / lasers / amps.

I am planning to have a section milled out for the scanners to sit in so the laser is the perfect height to go straight onto the galvo mirrors.

I`m told the amps get quite toasty also, so just trying to mount the hot stuff on the alu for cooling.
