    Default Disk Laser

    Hello.
I got a scrap disk laser about 6kw that has some missing parts.
Do you know something for these types lasers ?
If i see ok from photos there are missing some pumping diodes... can a laser like this work with missing pumping diodes ?
Where can i find used/economic such type pumping diodes ?

Also what more i need to operate this type laser ? optic fiber & cutting head with focusing lens ?

(It is on transport now in 2-3 days will be in my hands)

... my experience with a disk laser (some 15 years ago) was with a 20Watt type, which was pumped by a 60Watt IR-diode-laser -- the energy was simply "injected" with an FSMA fiber head into the rear of the disk laser housing.

When inspected the disk laser, it was simply a maybe 3mm thick window/disk in the resonator chamber, which was side-pumped by the IR-light.

So, depending on the resonator setup and Q-switch or other modi, missing diodes would only reduce the output energy ... but should be working, if no other issues ...

Disk lasers have efficiency up to 30% so 60w diode to output 20w is very logical it is a little more than 30%.
Can pumping diodes used on it's own as diode lasers ?

Have disk lasers some disadvantages/advantages against fiber lasers ?

When i receive the laser i will post photos & more details..

... I've used fibercoupled pumping diodes from IPG-fiberlasers with powers of 5, 9 and 25Watt out of a 105µm fiber for engraving. The spot is best around 0.12mm with 20mm FL ... so yes -- is usable is some ways.

Have other pumping diodes with up to 200 Watts on a spot of 0.2mm, what's another "world" -- they even can cut wood or metal sheets

Here a thread with some more related infos (see around page #8 for the diodes) - https://photonlexicon.com/forums/sho...ng-and-marking

    Hello jawanam,
nice Disk laser ! Yes the laser can work with missing laser pump diode. I think the best is to make a complete module with other missing diode module.
I have pump laser diode if you are interested in a dill with one disk module ?

Goto my webside laser Disk http://www.swissrocketman.fr/085-yb-...r,fr,3,321.cfm

You have the bigger lasers collection in the world as i see in your channel in youtube.
    Very impressive...
    I have also some of the lasers you show in your channel mostly CO2 (rofin scx30 / synrad57-1 / synrad48-2 / coherent gem30 / gem50 / coherent matrix / coherent versapulse / ipg pyl-50m / trumpf vmc4) not all operational
I got 2 same disk lasers to have replacement parts for other laser. I don't know why these lasers are scrapped probably are defective.
I will follow with photos/details when receive them..

    Ok arrived.
They are 2 identical trudisk lasers one has more diode pumps and outputs than other
and in one laser are missing 2 dps2 pump diodes power supplies
one laser has 8 diode pump power supplies and the other has only 6 pump power supplies probably the other 2 power supplies lost at transport.
So my question these lasers will work with less diode pumps and less pump power supplies ?
Also what optic fiber / cutting head / focus lens needed (1030nm) ?

    Some photos..

... if you can't find optics for 1030nm, then you can try with common 1064nm-lenses and mirrors, if they'll survive and work as expected ...

Iam searching economic optic fiber LLK-D 200um .
The laser is compatible with this type of fiber.

In the red circled fiber output connectors writes 100
What means this that the fiber cable must be LLK-D 100um ?
Exists a compatible optic fiber with LLK-D ?
Cutting head needs some special coupling with LLK-D fiber ?

The lasers have a 4kw water pump and water reservoir tank but no chiller.
What chiller will be ok ?
30kw electric power / about 7kw optic power so the chiller must cool 23kw thermal power.
