Unless you're a real business making $millions in profit, any potential patent (if it exists, which I doubt) -- no patent owner is going to give you any trouble if you're making a dozen of these to sell to laser/Halloween people.

Reckon I might get myself all really drunk the night before, so that my eyes'll git real bloodshot like 'n all. First thing on Halloween morning, I'll wake up to go to the outhouse for a wee, l'll take one gander at myself in the mirror (Yes-Sir, I gots myself a 1st class john) 'n that'll be about as much of shock my ole heart kin handle, I reckon.

Yup, The ole Hermit's got a big reputation on bein' one heckofa darn-tootin' party hound. No brag, just a fact.
Y'all have a great time scarin' the yunguns 'n all. I like makin 'em squeal, too.
Please play safe and don't do anything the ole Hermit wouldn't do.
These projects look awesome! Great work!

Thank you!! It's grown quite a bit. I should show pics and vids from its humble beginnings in 2010 when my yard was practically bare! Lol

Very awesome setup! I love the singing pumpkins!
Are those from AtmosFX? How was your turnout last year? I was oh so close to setting up last year but with covid cases on the rise again, I decided to forgo and test out my Donner wireless DMX transceivers (I think I cracked the code on those, BTW). This year, with the general public opinion of covid and the prevalence of vaxxed people, I am pulling out all the stops. I just hope the turnout is good! I'm also giving away bigger sized candy to help "get the word out!"

The singing pumpkins are a huge hit every year. Yes they are Atmos Effects and a cheap $60 video projector from eBay.
The turn out was good considering COVID was more scary than anything I could setup in my yard.
We got just under 100 kids. Usually we get between 100-200.

I think I'm getting sucked into this halloween thing.

Lazerjock -- I love the laser beacon on top of your house! I might have to do something like that. <evil grin>

Those AtmosFX things are also really cool.

    We've already got a 10foot inflatable Sta-Puft for the front yard: https://www.homedepot.com/p/GHOSTBUS...5208/316052596

I project laser cues from Nisha on the house from our neighbor's house across the street.

I think I need to add those Atmos ghosts in the big front window.

I also need to find a great halloween spooky soundtrack for background.

It's a lot of fun. Just like lasers, it can get expensive the further down the rabbit hole you go! I will admit, there is certainly a small amount of one-upsmanship at play but most of it is "imagineering ©Disney". I get an idea and then see if I can make that idea a real thing. There were quite a few projects, over the years, that have failed or didn't work out as I thought they would. It's just fun to imagine, build, and see if it has the staying power you were hoping for. For instance in 2011, I built a tomb-like entrance for the kids to walk through. It just lacked something. It was only used for 2011. It was not invited back! lol

Speaking of humble beginnings... this was my yard in 2010. Such a small start. One fog machine, three DIY LED lights with no lighting cues, cheap-ass speakers, and no porch decorations at all. It was a simpler time and was still so much fun!

That looks fantastic!!! I love the detail! What a cool setup.

I finally finished my tombstone, save for the weathering which should take only a few minutes to do.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
