EtherDream 2 conundrum
The last time I used my EtherDream DAC with LSX connecting via Ethernet it worked fine. Its been stored for a few years but I dug it out tonight and connected power to it and an Ethernet cable to my 10/100/1000 switch on my local network.
Updates to this post in parenthesis
My DHCP server assigns the EtherDream's MAC address an IP address (actually I had an unused static IP address assigned to the EtherDream2 MAC address) but the Etherdream does not show in the DHCP client table (it appears in the static IP address assignments list, nor can I ping it. (the tale-tale clue).
One oddity is that the 3 LEDs next to the EtherDream's Ethernet jack light up top to bottom on power-up, blue, green, yellow but then quickly turn all blue. I don't recall that happening before. (right, it never did, the link and activity lights just started flashing once plugged into the Ethernet's local IP subnet. I plugged in another known good device using the same Enet cable into the same switch port and it worked fine)
Also, another issue is the Ethernet switch port the EtherDream plugs into does not show a link light. (After much checking, this indicates to me the EtherDream device is dead)
I have notes on the EtherDream communication on specific TCP and UDP ports but don't recall that being a requirement when not traversing my firewall. (No Windows or router firewall settings prevent the normal TCP/UDP port communications from occuring.)
And LSX doesn't "find" the EtherDream with doing a DAC scan. (So, dead is dead, I do not recall how this happened but it obviously did somehow)
Any ideas would be helpful. (sorry, and in the words of Emily Litella - "never mind")
Thanks
