    Default Laser Art & Crafts

In case anyone was wondering what Laser Art & Crafts on Thursday August 10th at 10:30 am is. We will be putting together Lumia projectors housed in a lunch box. I will be bringing 14 kits. I am asking $35 for the kits. You can sit in without a kit. We will also be going over and talking about Lumia in general, different ways to create it, and maybe a little bit of incoherent light Lumia just for fun. I will have some extra acrylic disks for people to play with. Lots of options and hopefully we can fit it into the time allotted.

Here are some pictures of the finished prototype:

    Thumbs up

Outstanding! Thank you so much for doing this.

I will be bringing some lumia parts as well.

Here's the Make Magazine #20 article I wrote that started it all, back in 2009.

    https://makezine.com/projects/lunchbox-laser-shows/

Good to see the current technology updating this.
Back in 2009, I was cutting laser pointers apart with a hacksaw to get at the diodes.

I do a similar program for our audiences: DIY Laser Lightshow:

Be sure to check out my presentation on Tuesday to see the latest in my lumentic projects.

    Again, this is terrific.

For those of you staying at the Embassy, we're not arriving till tomorrow, but I've already checked in via the Mobile App. Clickamouse, Illuminaut, and Penguin will be in Room 659. I always like being on the top floor. Hope we can have other SELEM folk up there, too

    Hiya Mike,

Thanks! The Lumia was inspired by your Make Magazine article. I am bringing a copy of the magazine with me. Hopefully the LSO training will get a break long enough to see your presentation and Hank's presentation. I hope to have many excellent conversations with you. I am bringing some mold making stuff for duplicating Lumia glass and some other ideas I have. I need to get back to packing.

Have a safe relaxing trip out there everyone. See you all there.

Don't worry, Chris! Anyone who wants a repeat of my presentation, just find me anytime and I'll give you a personal version.

And this time I really don't have anything prepared in advance, so I'm just going to wing-it and see what happens, and yes, that includes a 'live demo' which will most likely crash -- I am using <redacted>, afterall!!

Chris, yes we can take an LSO class break for the two presentations. I will just talk faster!

Also, save one of the $35 lumia boxes for me. Thanks!

Mens Size - 2 == women's size... but with the sizes left you would need to be 10+

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
