I've got an little old CNC mill so I can just program it up to do .010 cuts, and walk away while it's running.

Yep, that's what we would be using as well.

Yes, a potentiometer goes across those points. That is the resonance control for how many loops in the spiral.

Lasermster1977 - thanks for trying on the mirror mounts.

Mixedgas - thank you for the advice on the transistors.

Laserist - thanks for the machining input.

Greg - thanks for the KQO L and M input. I also found a secondary drawing in the CYGN thread that show there should be a dual pot on the outputs of thr KQO.

Just finished the hard wire of the 3 fixed quadrature oscillators and all are working well.

The FET for the KQO is the 2N3820. It was pointed out to me early on that many of the discontinued parts called for in the LII schematics are available on ebay. Here is a photo of my inventory. If you don't want to get them online, I can send you some when I get around to returning laserist's prototype.

Thanks Greg. I found some 2N3820's on line.

I'm pretty sure all of you have seen this, but I thought I would still post it. Good info. ADI Multiplier Application Guide.

    Lasermaster1977: glad you liked it.

Last night I was playing around with the oscillators, function generator and multipliers and came up with something the partially resembles one of laserium effects I really like. It is in the song secret journey. See the link.

I basically AM modulated a circle with a sawtooth wave. I set the frequency of the circle to have medium density of rings and to a point where the retrace line was stable to try to hide it. I set the symmetry on the sawtooth to 91% to soften the retace line and make it not so noticeable. Then summed a low frequency to move it up and down. See video to what it looked like.

I found some advanced vidio features on my phone to better capture the image. Had no idea these were their until last night.

Nice work on recreating Laserium effect!
