That was Aron Bacs who was interested, but he got a military contracting job (yay!) but as a result can't make it to SELEM (boo!!!).

And unfortunately that 4-BR house is no longer available for that week.

The 3BR house on the golf course is available, but as someone pointed out the Homewood suites across the parking lot of the ES is the cheapest option at $663 for the week.

Maybe as we get closer people will start looking at the lodging options. I have stayed at the Elk Lodge the first DE SELEM, but I found it quite a bit further out than the ES when driving home at 3am.

I'll just wait and see if anyone wants to share the 3BR unit. That even has one room with two single beds, so if two people took that room, it would be half price for each (approx $370 for the week).

    Default I Dood It!

    I Will be attending SELEM 17 2024!

I have missed a few years 😞 ...but now am happy to return to see some old friends and to meet new ones.

Due to to circumstances...I will arrive at hotel/venue 08/04 in the afternoon and sadly departing early on the 9th.

Thinking about the Homewood Suites...looking for a roommate (2 double beds/non-smoking).
I will have a rental car for the duration.

Am just a casual laserist....but, have had a 20 X 24 garage built for projects and shooting light with my cheaper Chinese Lasers. Working on getting electricity out there...but, have run an extension cord out to beam.

    I'm Excited!

    Hey folks,

I just started hotel shopping. I'm a bit out of the loop, but I thought there was a hotel going up next to the Banquet Center. Did that not open yet?

    Nope. Not open yet.
Personally I'm staying at the Embasy Suites. Several people stayed there last year. I was locked in to the Holiday Inn last year and couldn't switch.
I would shy you away from that Holiday Inn.

Brad mentioned that there is another HI not too far in the opposite direction.

We should start a page listing the available hotels and where people are staying.

OK, thank you! The ES last year was OK. I didn't spend any time there other than sleeping and breakfast so as the ES is clean, I suppose that will do again.

It's been slow going with construction in that lot. Grr.... The Wawa (popular convenience store with gas pumps) opened in December. Roads, curbing and lights are all in. The strip with a few businesses and a restaurant started having steel framework go up last week but, the hole in the ground where the hotel is slated to go is still just that... a hole.

What is available within close proximity to the hall runs the gamut depending on what people are looking to spend. Obviously Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites and Candlewood are on the higher end. There's a renovated Red Roof and a Rodeway at the 896 interchange. Holiday Inn Express in Delaware one exit away at route 273 along with a Sonesta and Ramada.

I’m here to tell you: “Renovated” is too strong of a word for that Red Roof Inn. I had bad enough experiences there last year that I’m not willing to go back to it. I would not recommend the RRI. It was not clean, smelled bad, had pests, and had several other issues.
