Default CloudLase - New Hobbyist Laser Show Software

    Hi All,

Some of you may remember me from a few years back. I wrote open-source .NET drivers for the EtherDream and an ILDA file processing library:

    https://github.com/Bfindlay/LaserCore.EtherDream.Net
    https://github.com/Bfindlay/LaserCore.Ilda.Net

What started as a side project has quietly turned into six years of building laser show software, and I'm now at the point where I'd love to get some beta testers on the full version.

It is a browser-based, cross-platform laser show application that runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. Currently it supports EtherDream (all versions) and IDN-compatible devices, with more DAC integrations on the way. I'm waiting on a few units to arrive so I can validate those before making them available.

The core idea is to offer a free ILDA file player, with the option to unlock more advanced features like a frame editor, function generators, cue playlists, Art-Net support and more.
I'm a software engineer by trade and have never worked in the laser show industry professionally. I've been a hobbyist laserist since 2009, so CloudLase was built around what I wanted as an entry-level user. That said, I'm very keen to get feedback from the professionals here. What works, what's missing, what would make this genuinely useful for your workflow.

If anyone is interested in taking it for a spin, I have a number of full-access beta keys to hand out. Just drop a reply or send me a message and I'll get you set up.

    Cheers,
    Brett

    Hi Brett,
That looks really cool, I'd love to try it out. I'm working on a couple of ADC/DAC projects where your app would prove very useful testing out ED and IDN. The only ED source I have right now is a Radiator (which is a great tool), but I'm looking for other ED/IDN sources too.
    Thanks,
    -Hank
