Default I never did fill this out!

Hi everyone! I have been here for a few years, I think it is time that I do this!

    Name: Brian Karrick
    Location: Rowland Heights, CA
    Age: 32
    Occupation: IT Technician; PacSun
Hobbies: Lasers, Lights, High Voltage, acutally, anything that has electricity running though it.

Other: I got into lasers when I was 13 right after going to Laserium at the Griffith Observatory. That was the start. Got my first laser when I was 15. It was a $350 4mW 670nm diode laser. It had the worst beam characteristics EVER!! After graduating high school, I got a job working at MWK Industries. Only the old school laser dudes here will know what MWK is . After that, I have been acquiring lasers and junk and I have just recently (within the last 2 years) gotten back into lasers. Everything is so cheap now. I remember saving up $1500 for 143mW argon system, just the laser, no glavos or anything. I just built a 400mW RGB for less than that! Anyway, that is my story. I am glad to be here.

I've been doing laser shows since the mid 80 s and looking to do them as a proffestion, been stug on some software for shows bought from hong kong called mamba elements, it was a hacked illigal reproduction and caused me all kinds of computer problems and of corse won't save any shows, found that out the hard way, 32 hours of hard way. learnd my lesson, going to get mamba black or mb2 version soon.
please fell free to hackel me, advise me, mentor me or any thing else related to this forum or light shows, I welcome any input, I'am a open minded pesonality.

Just found this thread whilst searching for MWK!
    Mike Gunn
    Riverside,CA.
44,single,NEVER married,Harley Davidson tech./custom bike builder, still can see with both eyes!
First laser was .9mw from Mike Kinney at,you guessed it,MWK in Anaheim,CA. 20 yrs. ago,way before most people had ever even heard of such a thing. Back then we had to either plug it into the wall,or carry a 12v alarm panel battery with us to be portable! But it got all the attention when you had the tube hidden up your sleeve and made someones cocktail sparkle in the lounge! Good times!
Nowadays, any 5yr. old with 99 cents can outdo that!
    Mike

And I recently dug out my lissajous pattern generator I built from an MWK kit like 20 years ago! And back then only had the laserdisc player x-y "galvos/scanners" to use. Then comes Ebay and that awesome little box does some cool stuff hooked up to GSI Z2229's,and others.
