I figured everything was there besides the housing, hardware/software. I am willing to pay for that. It should equate to less or about the same if I were to buy an already built 12k scanner set with "500mw".

I am perfectly fine in learning more about the system and the laser operations before attempting to build. With the hopeful help of the members here, I would love to have a great laser I've always looked forward to owning.

Is it really that hard to put everything together?

    Woo!! Sold!

Now for the kind help of the users, I would love to have an amazing first RGB projector.

Will definitely put up pictures during progress and video when it's completed!!!

I forgot to ask, is blanking an effect of these lasers? With mixing the colors, is it going to be 7 colors, or the full spectrum?

    Cool

Per Fred's listing, all the lasers support TTL blanking. That means on or off only, so yeah - you're looking at 7 colors. (well, 8 if you count black as a color!)

Later on, if you want to move up to analog blanking you can get more colors (potentially millions of different colors), but that will require modifications to the driver modules for each of the three lasers.

As for your other question about how difficult it is to assemble - the answer is: not that hard. If you've ever used a soldering iron before, you shouldn't have any trouble. The actuall mounting of the lasers and the dichros is pretty straightforward, and the wiring of the ILDA conenctor is equally basic. Just put this wire on this pin, etc...

I can't wait to get it :-D Even while I'm waiting for the show software/hardware I can bounce beams off a normal mirror and speaker and have fun with that

    Cool

Yeah, but be careful. Back-reflection can kill the red diode. Make sure you don't accidently send the beam back into the diode.

Well I ordered the LA-FREAK package Flashback evaluation kit. Does it come with instructions or anything?

Hopefully they ship it express, or at least priority as I did ask for it.

Woo!!! I am PUMPED!!!! The lasers will be here tomorrow!!!!

Also, what is an easy way to avoid back-reflection? Just offset the mirror so it's no bouncing directly back?

With TTL modulation, how many colors can it put out at the same time? I know there is only 7 colors available, but can I put out all 7 colors in the air at the same time?

O yea. That has more to do with your scanners than your lasers.
