Heres are some pictures of my *ahem* workspace....

First is my office/workshop in the house - with almost complete laser projector amidst the rubble - this bench is supposed to be for work work as I have another smaller area for my electronics workbench.

second is looking towrds the back of the garage with my tools, lathe, fridge for beer , the exciter for the sp168 and the beast itself sitting atop a shelf above the bench. This shelf was constructed so the Sp168 can stay out most of the time and using my fear of dropping it on the deck to guide me the shelf has six solid legs down to the bench top and straps holding it firmly to the wall behind.

third the view towards the front of the garage with my pull down projection screen. note the power feeds on the wall in the corner - to the left is a rotary isolaton switch with 10mm SWA cable comming up to it this is the feed in from the house soley for the SP168 to the right of this is the 6mm feed that powers everything else One good thing with doing it this way is if the laser goes off on one and trips the RCD breaker in the house then the lights dont go out - or at least I can switch them back on!

Now Graham has suggested this maybe this is where I should post my projector build pics. Maybe we could have a branch from photon emiters area where we create a new tread for each persons build details. this could make it easier to navigate.

WOW!! Man I need to clean up ......I have boxes of screws and tools everywhere. Can't find anything. OK it's not really that bad. Nice pix from all!! We are getting ready to move soon and a lot of things are being sorted and packed away. Then I can redistribute all of it somewhere else. Trying like mad to get one projector done....waiting on those PBS cubes to be released from customs. Think of what you have acquired over time ....and then pack it all up. Not easy......

    laser lips .... said

How about a thread where poeple put there finished projetors to show off their creations. I know there is the gallery but I find it very slow and not so to the point (lots of images of not so exciting material)
I understand what you are saying ..... but i have also asked Spec a few
times for a gallery "position" and he has come back with reasons that i do understand, that have prohibited posting pictures of my gear to other members .... .... and i do undertand that it takes time to find the best image package etc .... but i have now stopped asking ....

What i did do recently... was suggest that we donate to support the bandwidth on this site ( and the Gallary ) that i was willing to do .... and im sure many members would love to do the same ..... but we had no responce....

anyway buddy if you are still out there Spec ...

I love this site and respect what you have done to set it up, and make it what it is today ...but... if you dont want to be involved in it any more, why not pass it on to someone who has the time buddy ....

dont really know what to say other wise ....

I love this site .... but i know that its just not me .... a lot of other people could share so much through the picture gallary

all the best ( and i really really mean it !!!!! )....... Karl

...to augment with some small, 2" (which should certainly be big enough for this distance!

I like the way you think!
