Yeah......DHL is starting to piss me off. They have one of my units "on hold" somewhere in China. It was scheduled for delivery today. I am about to be so dusgusted with this hobby. It has been enjoyable, but the hastles of actually getting a product has become more trouble than it is worth. And the sad thing it is the shipping industry...or lack of...that has me turned off. I have 2 lasers here that was dropped by a shipper. Both lasers are now broken. I have a lot of money in each package and would really like to shoot the idiot that dropped or threw the parcel in the foot. The money I have in this hobby would have baught me a new Lycoming 0-235-C aircraft engine for my other hobby. I need to do some soul searching about this. Something needs to be done in the States. Honda,Toyota, and Nissan have sub-manu facilities here......why not others??? I feel the market would support it and shipping would'nt be such a pain in the {insert shipper bashing of your choice}.
You are the only one that can make your dreams come true....and the only one that can stop them...A.M. Dietrich

In the UK we have a saying - and I think it applies here.
They dont seem to know their arse from their elbow.
And I bet ya cant get to speak to anyone or if you can they have less brains than a goldfish.

Yeah I think they finally got their **ahem** finger out of their elbow.

There was some riot or something that I heard about at DHL, not sure where that happened though. Maybe that had an impact on the situation.

    Thumbs up

Well I FINALLY GOT IT! But have some more ranting to do.

Today, well first of all I was hungover (32oz German Micro brews for $5, you would be hungover too)... so I had no real motivation to do anything this morning (well yesterday now). Well I was up and around for a while, and received an email at about 8am saying that it was out for delivery...

Well I was around, it was snowing outside so I was in the house the entire morning and decided to check outside... sure enough. Under about an inch or 2 of snow there lies my package that I waited ~3 weeks for. International Express my ass... Please excuse the language

Well thats my DHL rant... I will be posting a full review of this laser in another thread. Enjoy! Lets put it this way... I am really happy

    Cool

I love that you're using a jigger as a mount for the diffraction grating! Now if only it was filled with rum... (Then again, that might pose a fire risk...)

Glad you got your laser Max!

Rob, I was bracing myself for the worst. After I realized how crazy I went when they told me they lost it, I had to tame myself... it is what it is... luckily this was a decent ending to my fairytale

**dream sequence** Max and the laser lived happily ever after ....

    ok, I'm done with that

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I am glad someone noticed that. My Edmunds mount for a 50mm grating didn't come in yet and well that was the first thing that I saw that made sense

Speaking of the grating has anyone heard from Mark (Fluff) lately? I wanted to buy two actuators from him, however, I have lost all contact with him for about 2 weeks... hmmm hope he's alright
