    Cool

Your pics are blocked by the firewall here at work. Will have to wait 'till I get home to view them.

    Cool

I'll be home in about 3 hours or so. (Would have been sooner than that, but I've got a dentist's appointment to go to first.)

If you're still awake, I'll log on and see what's up.

How does the oscillation change with scanspeed? If it is resonance you should be able to find a scan speed close to what you want without the oscillation. It look a bit more drastic than resonance though...

    Cool

You've got a lot of overshoot on your Y amp, Andy. Try adding some LF damping. Look at the corners of the square that surrounds the circle in the test pattern. See if you can pull that overshoot back to the dot at the corner by increasing the LF damping. When you do this, you may notice some undershoot as you are increasing the LF damping. That's OK. Just get rid of the overshoot first.

If you do end up with some undershoot after increasing your LF damping, add a little HF damping and see if you can bring the undershoot back to the dot on the corner. When you do this be very careful! You don't want too much HF damping. Just enough to get you back to a nice sharp dot on the corner of the square.

Now look at the horizontal line and see if the waves have gotten any better.

Also, turn off blanking (or disconnect the blanking wire to your blue laser) and post a picture of the ilda test pattern with the blanking off. (Yeah, I know, it will look like hash. Don't worry - there's a specific line I'm curious about.) Post the picture for the test pattern in the normal orientation, then go into your software and rotate the pattern by 90 degrees and take another picture and post that one as well. These two shots (with blanking off) will help further diagnose the tuning after you've made your adjustments above.
