That link refers to a pyramid scheme from 3 years ago and was not a raffle.

Raffles are perfectly legal in the UK and the one conducted at UKLEM2 by Lasermad was conducted openly and I for one had no qualms about the way it was run nor the way it was drawn.
If Lasermad had won then fair play to him.
His money was as good as anyone else who paid for a ticket and the method of drawing was open and fair.
An element of trust is required and I would have thought that this should be more prevalent in our little "closed" community than in an openly public raffle.

If/when another raffle takes place at a UKLEM then I'd have no hesitation in entering again (and maybe even winning) so let's not all get morose and downbeat about raffles.

Good luck with your own, Cruch.

it does say on there :

    4. The Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976 (LAA) provides that all lotteries and raffles (except where specifically authorised by the LAA or the National Lottery etc. Act 1993) are unlawful, and makes it an offence to be involved with their promotion.

    However it also has:

"The LAA authorises small lotteries incidental to exempt entertainments, private lotteries, lotteries of certain registered societies and local authority promoted lotteries where they meet certain conditions prescribed by the LAA."

So its likely ok if it meets the LAA cinditions

"The LAA does not apply to 'gaming', which requires participants to exercise a degree of skill."

I am only pointing it out and maybe its worth checking, better to check than assume dont you think so.

I would be in if an end date were set, but this could go on for years if he actually plans to sell every ticket.

    wheres cruch???

is this thing still goin? I just bought 2 numbers.
i honestly dont see a problem with cruch being a part of this. i think he has proven his worth around here and i really dont see him trying to do anything "fishy" wit the raffle. thats just my 2 cents. if he wins....well, we all gang up and kick his ass! (yes, kidding)

    Cool

It is unnerving that Cruch hasn't posted in a couple months, though. And I agree that there should be an end date to the raffle. If the tickets don't all get sold, then the money should be refunded.
