    Hi Smog,

Download the free LPT tester here: http://home.planet.nl/~m.f.hajer/sco...pt_tester.html (botom for download)
You can test all the in- and outputs of your pc
Just compare them to the settings in Mamba.

    Excellent Audrey, Thanks for that

    OK, here's my findings:

The blanking seems to work fine in that I de-tick pin 1 (remove the tick) and the green LD runs or pin 17 and the red runs so I don't think there is a problem there.

When I tick pin 2 - 9 without pin 14 ticked the beam moves in varying amounts, larger steps as I move down the list, upwards (Y). The largest upwards movement being when I tick pin 9.
When I tick pin 14 and repeat my actions ticking 2 - 9 then the beam moves diagonally, in varying steps again, to the top left. Again, the largest diagonal movement being when I tick pin 9.
Ticking pin 16 stops any movement of the beam at all regardless of which pin 2 - 9 I tick but it dosen't stop the blanking actions from working.

I cannot select any number or variation of pins to get the beam to move horizontal (X)

EDIT - What do I actually require my LTP port to be set to in my BIOS? Unidirectional, Output only, EPP or ECP?

Does the DAC actually talk to my PC?

Is this what other people are getting at all please???

The PC we hooked it up to here is set in bios to ECP+EPP though I dont see any reason that it shouldnt work on SPP. And to answer your question there is no comms from the DAC to the PC - all the connections on the DAC are inputs

Just received Norm's USB DAC and am going to give that a run with his new version of NLS.
Still having probs with the Parallel DAC though.

I did think that maybe the 10m long parallel lead perhaps is knackering things up with Mamba but then it works with NLS

I have put the mylaserpage LPT driver on the FTP. this driver works fine, but you need to use the extra chip and the extra TTL outputs for colors

    RGB also works fine.
Pin 1 is intesity if you are using one color.
