dont know about the laser but this guy is a very reputable seller. Ive had good dealings with him a few years ago and he often has 'interesting' stuff for sale. Looks pretty cool - but 670 is half as visible as 660 and a third of the visibilty of 650 so maybe not as useful as it would seem.

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

I really liked the way "half a watt", "red" and "$250" sounded...
    So I bought it...

I have watched 2 or 3 of these and have wondered about them. 670 is low, but for the color pallete, it would be nice to add to what you currently have.

I have wanted to grab one for a while. I'd not sure about the optics needed for the 670 itself, but I bet a PBS would work to combign it with a maxyzmodule. I gues that would be close to having 300mW of 665nm...

I got a couple of 130mw, 670nm diodes from Lasershowparts, and they're REAL bright... I also got a CNI 635nm, 100 mw from them, and the beam quality (not their fault) is serious lousy (I shoulda known). For $250, I thought I'd give the ebay diode a try...

I will be interested to see the beam quality of this diode... You are obligated to post a lot of pictures once you have it going... so hurry up.

if you matched the beam diameters you could mix 635 and 670 for a nice colour red then again you could just mix 2 650s for the same effect.. and same power
