Now it's just a matter of seeing if that Northwest flight pops up again on my Orbitz page. Otherwise it's American Airlines landing at 5:45pm in Charlotte. The Northwest one was 11:[something]AM. <---way better.

If you get stuck with that American airlines flight, you'll probably end up missing dinner, but we'll still be at the Artist's Cafe having drinks and stuff. So stop in once you get to town. (Newton is about 50 minutes by car from the Charlotte airport.) I figure we'll be there until around midnight or so.

If you can get the earlier flight, that would be great, as it will give you plenty of time to get settled in your hotel room before the dinner party starts at 6 PM.

As far as a place to stay, your best bet is probably going to be the Holiday Inn Express in Conover. It's about 4.5 miles from the venue, and several other SELEM attendees will be staying there. I think it runs about $100 per night.

There are other hotels in the area up and down Interstate 40, if you'd like to stay somewhere else. I think a couple people are staying at the Ramada Inn located just off the next exit towards Hickory on I-40 (6 miles from the venue), and at the next exit beyond that (9 miles away) there are a whole bunch of hotels. Have a look at Google Maps or Mapquest and you'll find plenty of choices.

my &^%$ing new surgeon just moved my first appointment to tomarrow instead of the 20th.. 1 in 10 chance I wont make it, if he orders tests over da weekend. I will be getting out of akron at 10:30 am if he lets me. thats LATE for this trip. Guys I WILL bend over backwards to make this event if possible. His assistant THINKs I will be able to go. But usually they dont know squat.
