LaserBoy provides a number of effects that can be applied to a single frame or a series of frames. At the moment, the parameters of those effects are "fixed" in the code, but you don't really need to know anything about C++ to get at them. You would need to install Dev-C++ to be able to modify the effect parameters (or write a whole new effect) and compile the changes into the LaserBoy executable. In the future, I will develop a settings interface for all of the effects so that you can change them from within the application and save the settings in a simple text file.

I used the effects, "stars", "fall" and "echos" to create the fireworks.

To use the effects, pick out a frame you want to work with (just go to it in the view) and hit 'o' to go to the file output options. Choose option '4'. You'll see a list of loaded frame effects over the palettes. Type in one of those names and hit [Enter]. You just made a new frame set called (effect_name).ild.
Now open it into LaserBoy by hitting 'i' for file input, option '1' for ILDA. Type the name and hit [Enter]. Choose option '1' to open the frame set and replace everything that is currently loaded.

Option '5' in the file output menu is similar to option '4', but it works on the whole set of frames, not just one.
