I was looking at jaycar, and they had this. http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp...Max=&SUBCATID=
would that work? It seems like the same one as lava is using, but the DUAL bit threw me off?

So really, I could make 2 of these amps using the 1 chip?
If you want to make one correction amp for 6 channels of a sound card {X, Y, red, green, blue, intensity} you need three of these dual op-amps.
This is the one that I built and sent to drlava.

I see. Well, currently I only have green, and I need to fix my red up soon. Man I cant find any USB sound cards around. Anyone wanna build a USB sound card DAC for me for $50? :P
Right here.

If you go with USB, you will have to make a choice as to how to power your hand-made correction amp. It takes positive and negative voltage relative to ground. USB only has +5VDC. If you use a PCI sound card you can get +/-12VDC from the edge of the card. If you use USB, you can probably power the amp off of the +/-15VDC scanner PSU. There is also the posibility of getting one of those DC to DC converter chips that can make +5VDC into +/-12 or 15VDC.

can some one please explain this a little better for me? i would really like to play it on my sound card but what file exactly do i edit?
where is the ini file located?
can anybody make this idiot proof?
-Josh
I believe, when you install the sound card, when it asks you for drivers, you rename the file drlava made (I think) to whatever.ini. When your installing it, you point the installer to THAT file, dont let it self install. Someone who has actually done it will be able to help better, my USB sound card didnt arrive this week. Next week then
It will definitely be handy for me if someone could give me an idea of what to do when all this stuff I have ordered arrives
Hardware and PC software wise. Does the correction board come with full instructions? If so then I am sure that will be enough HW wise. It's more getting the PC bit correct that worries me
Can't wait to play Laseroids

The LaserBoy Correction Amp kit does not come with instructions. But, all the parts are labled on the board, so it's easy to put together.
You will find a lot of good information here:

Have you gotten into LaserBoy yet?
