After all this trouble, messing about with settings trying to get the image to look right, and checking over the OP-Amp and everything. Nothing would work, Until i pressed on the side of one of the galvo's. FFS, Image went clear.
All the problems i have been having were down to a fault galvo. This is the second pair of ScanPro20's i have had now, Both with the same fault. I'm really anoyed
I gonna have to speak to dave again![]()
:O!!!
I have the EXACt same problem with my Y galvo! It actually twists from the rest of the shaft!! I can tell if its moved tho, since it goes very noisy. You could try some epoxy, or actually screwing the galvo's to the mount to hold it?
Seems to be a pretty common problem unfortunately ...
Interesting problem, guys. Is the issue a bad galvo, or is the galvo just a little loosely mounted in the stage? If the latter, try tightening the lock bolt or putting a thermal conductive pad around the galvo tube so it fits more snugly.
The galvo is secure in the mount, its the part of the galvo where the connection goes, that twists from the rest of the galvo, so its a bad galvo kind of issue.\
BTW, ITS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY![]()
That explains the conversation I heard at SELEM about how the magnet cylinder has metal caps glued or press-fit onto the ends of it that extend out to make the shaft that rotates in the bearings and on one end holds the mirror.
There was a question about forming the magnet around a solid shaft or drilling a hole all the way through it.
Now I get it. I can see why they would need this.
