While we are on the subject - I might suggest (no not really...INSIST) if you need to get rid of them send them to Brian Bohan at Cambridge lasers. Because they are BeO you need to have them disposed of properly. If for some reason the tube gets broken anywhere around the bore (BeO) Immerse the entire plasma tube in a bag or bucket of water to keep the BeO powder from becoming airborn...Bad...Very Bad.

I hope you guys choose a place close to Bend, I might try to find a place to gather here...I dont get out very much.
    I will look around,
i have family friends in that area
And by all means if you find a place,,that would be great! I need to get away for a bit!

    Default Redmond has a VFW!

We had a pig roast, and a Birthday party at another VFW last year, they were wonderful hosts! Redmond has a VFW and I think we could probably make it to the local brewery (Bend of course has a few too). If anybody like climbing there is Smith Rocks (my gear is old I would need to check it all out for safety).

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

If we have to we can get a generator, if possible an analog one so you can actually get the sucker back putting out clean power, we can get a squid box, but NO RENTED POWER CABLES! I don't have the picture on hand at the moment or I would have a nice crispy rented cable power connector picture for you! It is too bad "Rocket Guy" Brian was moving or has already I might have been able to hook up his dome! I will get a hold of a friend in Redmond (I wonder if the armory has 3-phase, well there is also the fairgrounds next door).

I spent some time with Brian...he is a trip, I was not aware he was moving. Bad divorce with his Russian Mail order bride i guess, The key here is trying to get space cheap as possible, free ideally. How many people would attend? 5 or 10?

Default I am willing to host the LEM in BEND oregon...

if people will come here from where ever. I think a space can be made available. So If I built it...would anyone come? Does May sound good? Who would attend? Bend is not easy to get here but once you do get here and you get bored of lasers, you can do a million other things in this area. I would plan a Fri nite thru sunday afternoon event. We could pass the hat to cover major expenses, but I like bootstrap & pot luck technology. We would need a geek to get it on the net, I have no idea how to do that. I would find camping in the area or flea bag hotel for those on a budget. I would ensure 3 phase power and water and space you bring gear and control. I will also break out the Cobra Yag and peak all of you guys SP ions if you want. Anyway that is what I got so far.
