Just in case anyone is building a monster red and needs to mix some 660nm in with 638/640/642/643nm then I have one of these steep edge Semrock dichros for sale -

An exotic piece of glass that I don't actually already own. I'm giving this a think....

But if you are combining two lasers of different polarizations, you could just use a US$12 PBS cube instead. Seriously, this piece of exotic hardware is when you’ve already used that trick on one or both of the different wavelengths to maximize the power of each.

Let’s be honest, you wouldn’t use it anyway. You’d just squirrel it away in your massive pile.

You're right of course but.... why would that stop me? There is some sort of joke to be made about nuts and squirrels there I'm sure.

But, it would allow you extra red power in the same beam using both dichro and PBS. Think about it for a single mode diode setup... 660/638 > PBS > 660/638 all in the same beam. No beam stacking or knife-edging.

    Hi!
We have also some of these dichros on stock which we produced in germany (jena). High quality level, not cheap. But working really fine (as the 445/462)

    Phillip
