    If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

    I do - the red, green and yellow and possibly a small DPSS blue will all have DG's put in front of them and all will be housed inside a nice enclosure with a see through top. I may even look into having the DG's rotating.

    Just remember I need two identical tubes if that is possible or as near as dam it anyway.
    I too have a nice 10mW HeNe red but it's too darn long to fit in.
    Hi Jim;

    Ok - I just found a couple tubes that should work... They're 15 inches long, or 380 mm. That should fit, yes?

    I checked the output of both lasers using my LaserCheck wand. One is making 5.1 mw, while the other one is making 3.8 mw. All of the tubes I have in this size range have the usual 15 mw max output stickers, but we know that's BS. When they were new these two were making 6.3 and 6.9 mw respectively. (At least according to the calibration labels on the heads.)

    Here's a picture of the heads:

    The white smudge on the right is a bit of packing foam that was stuck to the tape residue on the head. It rubbed right off after I took the picture.

    So, whatcha think? Is this what you're looking for?
