    Greets all.

    Canberra here.

Just learning it all, enjoying reading what you all do, and hopefully pick up a thing or two.

Decided to jump in the deep end, grab a 800mw RGBv projector from NRG, learning all I can with Pangolin software and a FB3. Still have a long way to go.

and to top it off I have a 30mw laser sitting on my office floor.

I use LD2000PRO, LiveQiuck, Quickshow, LIVEPro and a NEO Laser package.

Don't get to use my gear as much as I would like so open to any ideas.
I was the laser safety officer for the Wollongong PCYC and did all the U18s but that cause has died due to politics.
I have just completed my MBA so if anyone has any work experience with lasers I would be cool doing that before heading back to the corporate world.

    Thank for your time.

Still out of the corporate world and flogging junk on ebay for food. Looks like I might start a law degree and still looking for work. It seems like common sense. I am a certified project manager professional as well. Not much work around here unless you are a tradesman. Have an offer to go to Peru and partner in a Club but still serving time for disqualified driving. Perpetual poverty sucks. I have two new house mates that are not into lasers at all so my home raves are also on hold.

Cold at night, warm during the days.

The NRG 800mw is a decent unit, for the price. Some little issues, but a solid foundation to 'beef' it up a little. I think it's a nice unit to learn upon, and that's the reason why I purchased that unit.

I wish to use it mainly for animation projection onto walls and/or screens. So higher speed galvos were more of a priority than outright colour. (Though the 532 @150mw is overbearingly bright by itself.)

    It would be great to catch up with those with more knowledge. :}

Canberra here, no lasers as of yet, but already putting the wheels in motion to build. - I am probably crazy to attempt a build having only ever operated an old friends 1watt and 7watt argon years ago. Having said that, i am tech savvy enough to build a computer and pulled apart the odd gadget to fix so i should be fine. Well i hope.

    This hobby, it burns money

    Cheers

There are a few others I just cant think of immediately, please feel free to add to this list.

And respect to all the university professors and scientists involved with mega laser research projects they are a league above all but just don't get the exposure like the rest of us in the entertainment sectors.
    RESPECT FELLA'S!

One of the most techinically minded Aussies as far as lasers go (and multimedia). Was responsible for Excitement Technologies in Melbourne and has a few big accomplishments under his name.

I would add my name to the list but that would be a bit big headed so I will leave that job to someone else to do.

From what I could find out :
The original laser system in the Metro nightclub was a 10w whitelight sabre, with a projector and control system that was designed and built by some Italian company. Over time due to lack of mainternance it ended up an argon system . Some time later it was rendered inoperative by some botched repairs, and was eventually replaced with an Oracle laser system (1 x 3w Ar/Kr + 2x 300mw DPSS) .
