Greets from Melbourne!
I'm Pete, and my interest is in developing lower cost professional/lab optical sources, primarily for the microscopy industry. This is mainly focused on using diode and DPSS lasers to replace gas lasers. My company has a substantial R&D lab, and engineering staff specialising in electro-optical and micro-mechanical systems.
My "host" of choice is a Coherent Radius. TEC cooled, socketed diode, remote modulation control, multiple safety interlock, etc. What you would expect from a laser of this type. It is also perfect for testing the TO-46 package LDs we have been seeing enter the market via "unconventional" channels, e.g. 405nm from BD-ROM drives, that other wavelength from those projectors, etc.
It'd be great to chat and maybe meet up with more locals interested in laser product development, even at a hobby level, since sometimes I feel very "alone" doing this type of thing here in Aus

.
Cheers,
Pete
