Little late getting in here (still trying to catch up on the backlog... I may never take a vacation again!), but it seems that Oli is well on his way!

Welcome to PhotonLexicon, Oli! Glad to see you're drawing up plans already. It really helps to have a template to go by. You'll notice right away if you don't have room to adjust a scanner amp, or re-attach a wire. Better to make those mistakes on paper, rather than in metal!

If you're stumped and need some inspiration, have a look in the PhotonLexicon user gallery. There are lots of pictures of projectors in there. It will give you a good starting point at least.

As for keyswitches, etc, you can try Mauser, or Digi-Key, or even Allelectronics.com. Just make sure the key can only be removed in the OFF position. (I'm not up on the European electronics companies, but surely there are plenty to choose from on your side of the Atlantic as well.) Maybe one of our UK members can chime in here with a local company...

One final thought: If you can make it to a UK Laser Enthusiast's Meeting (UKLEM), *DO IT*. You'll meet a bunch of really great people and learn a lot about lasers, software, controllers, and projectors. I think they're actually talking about having another UKLEM in the not-too-distant future, so you might want to have a look in the Meet and Greet subforum and see what's cooking...

    And again, welcome to PhotonLexicon!

thankyou very much for your input adam. i have been thinking about this for a while but never get chance to go to them.
i went to an event in derby in the uk that had 2 really nice 3w white lasers i got chatting to a guy that worked for laser electronics (www.laserelectronicsltd.com) behind the stage. he said its a good place to start being a laserist by going to meet ups.
im going to draw some plans and then probably post them on here and see what people think.
    cheers again mate

In the picture of the ScanPro20 there is a 16 to 25db (ilda) breakout board. Is there anyway I get get a schematic or pin diagram? My scanpro20 did not come with those and I need to connect to a DAC.

    Hi Tony,

The manufacturer provides us with little information on these boards.. What I know I have found out by reverse engineering.. Anyway, what exactly do you need to know? I probably have the answer

    Default Scanpro20 ILDA

My DMX/Controller board has an ILDA in and out. Each has 16 pins. I have a DAC 25 pin output (obviously.) I want to connect my DAC to the board. I don't know which pins to connect to the board to get them to communicate. I can pull the ILDA pinout (25pin) but I don't know where to land them on the board. DB25 pin1 = DB16 pin1?? etc.

Sorry if this is an entirely newbie question but I don't get it.

    Thank you.

    You probably mean 15-pin. I don't know of a DB16, but there is a DB15.

A make/model of the DMX Controller board would help a lot. You probably just need to make an adapter. (unless there's a DB15 ILDA pinout that I don't know about...)

    Hi Tony,

I don't quite follow your problem. Did we not ship the DB25 connector boards? Perhaps you should shoot me a PM, and we will work this out.
