It would be nice for him to test his products before he sells them instead of letting eBay's crap "as is" policy keep his "practices" safe. I guess there are too many n00bs out there lining his pockets for that. And this is coming from an "ex-n00b"...
Unless he has stock in the parcel service he uses...

UPDATE: I received the replacement diode today and tested it right away.
This one is a winner plus he sent me a nice little collimating lens for free.
I am sorry for all the other people who had bad dealing with Chris but so far with me he has been very fair.

Update to the Update:
The diode has passed away. It died a slow horrible death. While it shined brightly in its short life (30 min. or so) it slowly dimmed to about 5mw. I am now convinced that these diodes are not rated any where near what Chris claims. Sorry Chris I call it like I see it. At its peak it was putting out less than 500mw then slowly went down in power.
It was being driven by a Wavelength driver and was being kept cool with a TEC powered by a Wavelength temperature controller.
I have now scraped plans to build my own red.

Just to be fair all the other items I have bought from Chris has been fine. I just won't trust the high power diodes.

problem solved for me...
I bought a green HeNe from Chris with a supply for $75 + shipping. I was happy when it arrived a few weeks later after several messages like "hey Chris...where is the laser? His packing was first rate-excellent but the laser did about exactly 1/2 the power he had listed. I asked for a price adjustment but he onlt offered a return with me losing all my time and shipping back. So I kept the laser and had lasersam tweak the OC mirror (more cost). After (even with slow shipping and 1/2 power) I left positive but accurate feedback he banned my from bidding! So for me this "problem" is now solved. Others beware, slow shipping and half power lasers. The dead diode thing is simply unacceptable; he should make that right. Come on Chris; do the right thing! You are not really the bad guy are you?
