    Default Case Type

    Hi Pococino,
The case I am using is an old desktop case (not tower).
Dimensions are approx 450mm wide, 430mm deep, 155mm high.

Sorry for slow response - have had no internet for a few days!
    All the best, David

    Default What sort of red?

    Hi Laserguy216,
The red I will be using is the 200mw 635 Red from Laserwave that I won in the Cruch raffle.
It has been made (thanks Bridge!) to match the height of the 473 blue I bought recently from Laserwave.
According to the tracking, it is now in our local Parcelforce depot, and should be out for delivery on Monday

Will keep updating as I progress,

    All the best, David

    Hi David!
    Cool device, I like it!
Will you paint it in black (plastic and upper part of the case)?
I have a projector similar to your one (in old PC case), here it is:

    That case looks so good!
Did you spray it yourself, or get it done proffesionally?
If you did it yourself - what kind of preparation and paint did you use?
I have found if I do it myself it scratches very easily.
Is the display showing internal temperature?
    Great work,
    Regards, David

    Default Great News!

My 200mw 635 from Laserwave arrived today
Thanks to Cruch for organising the raffle, and to Bridge for getting it made to match the height of my 50mw 473
The laser arrived extremely well packed, with clear instructions in almost faultless English (I know its a cheek to comment on that as I speak no other language - but it is refreshing to see)
The laser is solidly constructed, with a dedicated PSU/controller.
Switches in the side enable you to switch between CW, positive or negative TTL or analogue modulation.
It looks very bright to my eyes compared to a 650 CNI I have.
I would like to post comparative pics, but it sems difficult to capture the difference on camera. Any suggestions fr settings? I have a rather old 3.3m pixel Nikon 995, but I love it as it is totally manualy controlable, ad can focus down to 20mm.
I will post more pics etc as I progress.
    Regards, David

Ah, I remember that camera. Fantastic macro mode!

Unfortunately it's very hard for a camera to capture laser light accurately. Depending on the dyes used in the CCD of your camera it may very well be impossible. The CCD has a response that differs from your eyes', but it usually isn't evident until you use monochromatic light or wavelengths outside the visible spectrum.

What you could do if you want to compare their brightness is to expand the beams (to avoid saturating your retina) and reduce the power of the 635 until it matches the brightness of the 650.
