Interesting, I doubt it will be long before Nichia does a multi-mode version of this..
Have you considered getting pricing direct from Nichia? They are good with samples btw, we recently got a 1w 445nm diode on the house!!

What you need to think about is what can you come up with as a marketable device that will be popular enough to bing the prices down. Make something that will help apply women's makeup or somehthing...

a laser makeup removal! have it do a flat beam across their face (with goggles on of course) and then poof all the make up is gone and we got cheap 473 diodes!

Yah! and it will also remove wrinkle lines, tighten up the skin, give the skin a new tone, remove unwanted facial hair.. If I had to guess, I would say these will drop in price in the not-so-distant future, due to the upcoming 'laser tv' era
