    Default realtime 3D graphics preview

OK so this is only a preview of some new capabilities of my project. I've been putting together a 3D rendering engine for laser display It is getting in shape now and I like to share my _first_ results here.

The vids show a simple 3D world that can be moved around in using a gamepad. World objects can be animated and have their own behavior as seen in games. Here just an octahedron is spinning.
The system allows simultaneous rendering of the 3D world and overlays. As you can see it even allows ZoofScope to be overlayed

The hardest part so far was doing smart clipping and sorting. It is still showing minor artifacts but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

    Hope you enjoy the vids:

    Hi Igor,

the controller is an easylase, it comes with a simple API. I coded the rest, basically building my own SDK as I go along

    cheers

That's nice work. I had thought of doing something like that by modeling my house. I never got a good handle on handling the Z clipping and 3d to 2d perspective, though. Most of the work can be done with DirectX. That is what I use for a lot of my effects.

    Fantastic Job again!
Reminds me of my early days of computer-gaming ("Elite" and something on a Commodore Plus4, can't remember the title... ).

    Cool!

Reminds me of the grid for the Atari "Battle Zone" arcade game!

Now THAT would be cool to play in 15' x 15' laser imagery!

    P.S. -

Just noticed that Banthai picked up on the same idea.

Similiarly warped minds come to similar conclusions, eh Karl!
