Considering the limited time we worked on this yesterday we made great progress. I put this down entirley to careful planning of the whole thing. As you will have seen in earlier images (not me with a pirate hat!) we have spent time weighing up the most effective layout. Of paramount was easy maintainance and the ability to be able to remove/refit as much as possible from above. With these thoughts in mind yesterday we barelled in and did what we needed to do. The laser is going to be RGY for the time being but we have placed holes and fittings ready for a Laser-wave blue so the conversion to RGB will take about 10 mins once one is aquired.
A couple of other interseting points to note on the construction - The base plate is held in place my brass standoffs so there is some air circulation below the deck. The 12 of these are fitted 9 to the baseplate for fixing with screws from below, and 3 to the case with fixing by screws from the top. This way to remove the bed we can invert the whole case remove the 9 screws that are easy to access from below, flip it all over remove the last 3 easily and lift the whole bed out for easy maintainance and adjustment. This is in opposition to all 12 being on top and having to weild a screwdriver all over the place to get to the screws, plus this would have severely limited where we could place the goodies on top - or the fixings below. The scanner driver adjustments will be positioned pointing towards the front so that to make adjustments for tuning only the front panel need be removed.
You may also be interested in the feet under the dichro mounts which allow quick and easy removal of the dichros from above (no need to get under the bed) and the slot at the front means that they can be removed by loosening one screw and removing another. The height of these feet place the 15mm Laser-wave dichro at just the right height so the Laser-wave laser points right at it centre. See attached.
More work on this today. Reports to follow

Your projector is starting to look the bees knees there Kev. Looking at the first pic, your not planning to fit a brew machine in there as well?

Are we going to see the ILDA TP coming from the scanners today?

    Keep the pici's coming lads.

    lookin GREAT guys!!

i like the idea of the 45 degree mirror into the scanning system. it makes last minute tweaking at show time 1000 times more simple!! you sometimes need to think logically, NOT just "crap, am i going to lose 10mW here?" (off the mirror)

is a 10mW loss on a projector producing over 300 or 400 even noticeable? i doubt it!! its like comparing a car with 400 horsepower to a car with 410 horsepower. WHO is ever going to be able to tell the difference with that?

as long as you arent using crappy mirrors with losses over 20% or so like in the pre-fab crappy systems, youll be fine!!

and rob, i think for teasing the poor guy you should just give him that blue CNI!!! thats SOOOOOOOO cruel!!! lol...
