I LOVE IT!

It is about the coolest picture of "laser excess" I've ever seen!
The true meaning of Chistmass!
I love how the decorated tree makes a gap in the fan.
Perfect!

I'm just curious as to how you got such visible beams on what appears to be a clear night. Was it just sheer power or is there more moisture in the atmosphere than at 1st glance?
Does the word "photo-shopped" mean anything to you?

I don't think it is!
Pretty sure thats real
Look in the window on the right. You can see the reflection where the beams are terminating on the trees across the street. Also, look closely at the pine tree on the left. One of the branches on the back of the tree (closer towards the house, so you can't see it) is intersecting the fan of beams, and it's casting a shadow.
As for the visible beams - remember that he lives in the Pacific northwest. So yeah, lots of moisture (fog) in the air pretty much all the time. Add to that the fact that the picture was taken at night with no other lights on, plus the laser is making nearly 3 watts of green, and it's easy to see why the beams are so vivid.
Plus Johnathan has already stated that he only put the projector up on the roof long enough to take the shot. Then he took it back down. But he really does own a 3 watt DPSS green projector (he had it set up at SELEM 2008), and it is more than capable of creating such a dramatic effect.
Bottom line: the picture is real, not photoshopped.
