What scanners do you plan on using?

Holy shiznit
Never seen so many laser modules in my life!
Wow .... just wow !
The smallest static discharge.....and poof !!! No more red-blue -green. I can kill a diode without even looking at it......well almost. That is just a horrid thing for me to see. Unless Bridge incorporates a shunt for the diode in the laser head untill the driver is powered up........

Oh man .... that is awesome
there ok, i didnt power them up or anything.
gona start marking up the alum plate tonight

You don't have to power them up to kill them! With the pigtails from the heads not connected to anything, you're just asking for a small static discharge from the carpet to destroy the diode. Remember, those exposed pins on the plug from the head lead directly to the laser diode. It's just like handling the bare diode whenever that end plug is exposed, and you certainly wouldn't handle a bare diode on the carpet!
Mecheng3, Lasernerd, and Zoof are right. You are being foolishly reckless by placing them on the carpet like that. Sure hope you didn't kill one...
If you had plugged the pigtails into the driver modules first, you would have been fine. But with the bare plug exposed like that - well, if you haven't blown one by now then you can consider yourself *very* fortunate. I guess you'll find out when you plug them in to test them...

I think I have been reading too much, the first thing I thought of was, darn wish the new product Laseorb from pangolin was actually on the market... (http://www.lasorb.com/) I guess the term vaporware could go either way on that carpet!
That will be an interesting projector to see completed, be sure to post lots of pictures!

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
alright give me a slap for being stupid
