    Default Adding 405 to 'boost' my blue?

    I was wondering if I added around 200mW of 405nm light to my 100mW 473nm laser, and put them so they they both are blanking as if they were one unit, would this effectively boost my visual blue output?

    I guess it's a bit hard to explain what I'm going after... I want to increase the powers of my green and red lasers but obviously that will throw off the white balance because I cant afford to upgrade my 473 right now. If I increased the red and green and also added in 200mW of 405 do you think this would make up for the power increases in the other lasers or would it just end up looking funny??

    I am currently experimenting with a small projector using 405 mixed in with 650 and 532...

    I do'nt have experience with 473 but i can tell you that the 405 boosts all colors in the projector.
    Colors vary from extremely deep colors (dark) to stange pastel type colors.
    Sadfully i can't make pictures or video showing these colors.

    Non of my photo/film equipment can show the 405 wavelengt.

    I'm surely going to add some 405 to my big projector when i start building it.

    first you would need to find a 200mw 405nm diode.

    at the moment you can only get 100mw anymore and the diode goes pop

    the 6x burner diodes can do a bit more than 100mw maybe not 200 but more than 150mw.

    the 4x diodes can do 150mw cw just fine

    i tested a t803 diode at 200mw with a tec it lasted an hour.

    so im not sure 150mw would last as long as you expect

    Are the 405nm diodes polarized? Can you combine two of them in a cube?

    But yes to answer your question. You could even boost the power (and increase the spectrum achievable as Anthony mentioned) with 445nm

    I almost bought a 405nm 100+mw pointer, but I think I am going to wait for ~12x+ diodes to come out

    James - YES YOU CAN!!! Its a beautiful thing. I've done it with the original PS3 sled diodes, for a whopping 15-20mw lol

    well the phr-80t diodes are not the strongest available by any means. i usually dont push these above 120ma and at the current i have ran them for hours and hours.

    i have ran the 4x diode at 200ma and it was close to 200mw but it died a few hours later.

    other have tested these at 150mw and they have ran for days.

    but the 6x sleds are still some what a mystery because they are just now getting low in prices of the sleds.

    i would guess a safe 180mw would be feasible from them though.
