    Default Aim, Fire!

Im trying to make myself a laser sight for bow.

My intention is to get myself one of these:

and then to try and figure a way of powering and controling in an approriate way. Ideally there would some sort of wireless switch on my tab (the thing that protects the fingers that holds the string). That is the challenge that id like to open to the floor as I have very little knowledge of electronics

Will it make any difference for a longbow?
After all, there's wind, the draw weight etc. to take into account which are variable with each shot.
Unless of course you are talking about a crossbow (but wind is still a variable) and even then, the red dot won't necessarily be where the arrow hits.

I know, I shoot olympic recurve for those that dont know that is one of these: http://ayasarchery.com/images/olympicrecurve.jpg
and for those that do know my recent pb for a portsmouth is 526 .
Im also aware that a laser sight isnt allowed for competition type and I couldnt submit my scores however at fun shoots etc it seems like a fun thing to do so im going to press on...

In answer to your question, yes there are many many variables this is why the sight would be adjustable to enable me to 'tune' the angle so that the arrows do hit the center
