They're fine if you use the ones with thumbscrews- no screwdriver needed. Then you mount a cable retention spring clip near the socket so that a loop of cable can be rigidly retained. Problem solved.

DB-25 connectors are NOT road-proof!!!!!!!

It's easy to step on a connector and bend the outer metal ring so the connector doesn't fit anymore and it's even easy to bend pins (http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...ead.php?t=5754 - pins were bended in DB-25 which caused this behaviour..).

what would you be putting though the DVI cable? I know they make converter boxes for component video...run the RGB video signal though cat5, I'm sure it wont be long before the same thing is out for DVI.

They're available for single-link DVI but not dual-link, which I need for my HD projectors :-(
