The programming for the lights is done with Light-O-Ram's production software then saved to a SD chip along with show times and various other production information. The LOR Director Control (stand alone device) unit sends a continuous data stream to the other units via a network. This data stream tells each unit what circuit to turn on and off.
At the same time LOR is sending a separate DMX 512 stream and is decoded via LOR's iDMX device. This device is then hooked to DMX input on the Pangolin board. Then Showtime's Live decoded the DMX stream the sent the proper animation to the laser projector.
On the Pangolin system I created a single show with several modules and assigned each one to button via Showtime's Live. So at show time the LOR Director sends out a DMX stream that has the page and cell number for the song that is playing. This way the lights, music, and laser are alway 100% in sync. When the next song that has lasers plays I simply send the new page and cell number for the entire length of the song. Best of all I could change the order of the songs in the LOR system at any time and it always work correctly.
