    Xntrix,

My sincere regrets of your situation , for me the real disgusting part is being made redundant by email .. .. im pretty sure thats got to be against employment legislation somehow , if its not its cetainly morally reprehensible ... I would expect anyone who has worked for large organisation will know that "just being a number " feeling , not pleasent if you put your heart and soul into an organisation ...... ( the problem I discovered though is that if you choose to be self employed after a few years you just feel like a tax collector ! )

I wish you well in future pursuits and from the little i know you david i know you wont be lazying about , your a man of many hobbies and knowledge so im sure you will find a suitable employment that will allow you continue you to finance the real fun in due course.

Hi Paul, Thanks for your kind message. I suppose technicaly I have not actually been made redundant yet. Email at 6PM on friday was entitled "Invitation to Meeting" . There are 5 of us based in Dingwall. The gist of the email was that to cut costs this was going to cut to 3. We are invited to apply for these jobs, and if we do there will be "competitive" interviews for the posts. The titles of the posts makes it pointless to apply, they are written specifically for the 3 remaining people If we decide not to apply, redeuncy proceedings will begin. It is all very carefully worded.
    All the best, David.
ps I don't want to hijack this thread, so will leave it there.

Maybe laser bargains appearing soon. David
I am sorry to hear that.

I am waiting for news to find out if I am a "chosen one" for redunancy. Our company is laying off 25 people out of 240. I will find out at the end of the month, we are some way through our consultantion period.

I wish you the best in finding new employment.

OK guys n gals (?) I have spoken to Fluff and subject to Sunday bookings which do come along from time to time, the venue we used in the summer is available for us as and when. We need to firm up the date and check its available with Mark. Plus there is often use of the venue on a Sat. but not always and the use is one of the upstairs rooms so if we wanted to do a 2 dayer at some point this would be a possibility - YAAAAAY.
As we get the room very cheaply (£100 last time - and a big thankyou to BK for letting us have it all all let alone so cheap ) there may well be occasion to open up the bar for refreshments of the alcoholioc AND non alcoholic variety. If this is the case it would be nice for people to use the facilities - and help BK put a little icing on the cake for himself. If we do this without moaning about the prices which may well be deared than Wilkinsons, then it would give some goodwill back to our kind host.

Thoughts on a date 15th Feb 22nd Feb or 1st March

    any comments chaps

The 22nd or the 1st March are good for me. I've got a show to do on the night of the 14th so the 15th would not be good for me and I don't want to miss this next meet.
