I checked that out.. It's ok, they mean that the state in which external power enters is 110~240VAC, so it has a universal SMPU inside. The ELO site has manuals that comfirm that the power lead is a standard IEC type 'kettle lead'. Actually I'm hoping the innards run off a common 12VDC line so I can run it off batteries as I do with the MII12000 mainboard at times.
I didn't even buy it for the touchscreen, just for the fact that it's probably a wickedly good LCD monitor anyway. But as the touch screen function is serial and the firm has downloadable drivers, I'll at least be trying it as a mouse. Main problem is it seems that while resolution is high, the size of the contact needed for the SAW position detector to trigger might make it clumsier than I'd like. On the other hand it's not going to wear out or break, and I read that it might even allow pressure sensitive effects. If this is true, just imagine the potential for a control interface for lasers or music...
The only thing that would not be OK for music use is multiple touch support i guess![]()
Wow, a day later and he's only got 7 left
If you want one, be quick because tomorrow they will be sold out
I want a second one, if someone will lend me £100 for two to three weeks. I won't let anyone down, last thing I''d do is waste my chances on anything good over that kind of bullshit, but I guess I'll be making do with just the one.![]()
If anyone in the US is looking for one, I have a panel mount 18" 1280 x 1024 touch screen and a 10.4" unit that is amazingly durable with a sealed magnesium housing.
CLICKY!!!

Turns out you're right, it IS an external supply unit, not just a semantics thing about what form the electricity is in on entry. It's supplied though, and is 12VDC too, so battery operation should be fine, just what I wanted of it. Nothing else to report, just got it, it's still mostly wrapped in amazing amounts of bungees and bubblewrap.
Hmm You say, 12V. I think I've seen 19V 3.5A mentioned on manufacturer's website...
Is it working like these ?
