Just curious if anyone has had the opportunity to put their custom 660/635 dichro to use yet, and if they had any comments / pros / cons they would be willing to share.
Thanks!

Sweet.....
I used mine for a little while. My 635 has the "stamp" beam and with my new set of reds from Mike, I can't stand the beam of the 635. I took it out.I'd like to find someone make a low powered "slim" 635; 100/150mW to mix with.
Steve-o's 636 sounded promising if it weren't for the price tag.
As for the optic itself, it has a narrow transmission spot for the 660 that doesn't seem to be 45 degrees and the reflection sweet spot for 635 isn't at 45 either from what I "saw". No meter or protractor available, so this is all by eye. I also believe that you could angle tune these to mix deeper reds, but the angles would be fairly severe. It might even work for the 642s everyone has been fawning over.Part of me wants to get a bid beam table and tear my projector down to find the best angles for this and all my optics. Some of the angles I think needed would make for some interesting module positioning and beam layout.
Maybe even beams from "above".
If you look at my projector album you can see the odd angles I am using for my green and blue. this was to get the most red and green, but I need to re-think it for better red efficientcy. My green dichro has a lot of loss on it; bout 20mW and another 20 on the blue.
Some of tocket's research has got me thinking of using a little green with 405 and separatly with 635 to make a deep blue and yellow to utilize those channels on the QM. I played with the 405 dichro last night and was mixing 660 and 405 for a very nice magneta; 100mW of each. Maybe even try the axicon idea on a few colors to have a separate green module for adding with the 405 for deep blue and the 635 for yellow. May turn out to be a BIG box in the end though.![]()
